Falling in LOVE with God

Hey guys! I just wanted to share with you all the new book I am reading, Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I've heard lots of great things about this wonderful book, and since I'm not much of a reader I never buy books for myself. I've asked for this book for 2 Christmas's in a row and didn't get it, so the other day Tyler {boyfran} wanted to go into Mardel {Christian bookstore} for something. I saw this book on sale for $10.99 and thought- "Okay...I HAVE to get this book. I know it will change my life!" Sure enough... I've only been able to get to the 4th chapter, and as a Christian and follower of God, this book has ALREADY in the first 4 chapters, made me re-evaluate the way I look and think about life and the way I'm living it. I can't wait to read the rest! I will let all of you know how it turns out. As for now, I definitly recommend getting this book and once you do, your life will be changed!

P.S. you know you love my snowflake pajamas ;)

Valentine's Wreath!

Okay people... This past weekend I decided to make a wreath like one I saw on another blog, and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I looooovvvee it!! Sorry it's taken me so long to post this { I've been a little VERY lazy }.

You will need:
styrofoam wreath (12 in.)

wide ribbon
cupcake liners (I used about 150)
hot glue

-Hot glue one end of the ribbon to the backside of the wreath and wrap around about 1 in. apart or the width of the ribbon. Once you have gone all the way around hot glue the other end.
-Take cupcake liner and squish together (for all you sorority girls, squish together as if you were "pomping"), and hot glue right on the edge of the center of the wreath.
-Continue to hot glue the cupcake liners in a row as close together as you can get them. I used about 5 liners in a row. Use the ribbon as a base to go by to help you keep your liners sraight.
-Do the above step all the way around the wreath.
-Once you are finished, wrap a piece of ribbon around the top of the wreath to hang on your door.

TA DA! Here are some pictures of the process, in case my instructions weren't clear.....

I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I do!

PROJECT!!

Ok guys and gals! Here are 2 of my most recent projects, that were suuuuuuppper easy!

Project #1: Spring-ish Wreath
it wasn't intended to be "spring-ish", but i liked the colors. I probably won't hang it up for a few more months...

All you need is hot glue, styrofoam wreath, yarn, and paper flowers (i got mine from Michael's)

Hot glue one end of the yarn to the wreath and begin to tightly wrap it around.
I sawed mine in half to make it easier and faster, with a kitchen knife none the less! LOL!

Once you are done, hot glue the other end of the yarn to the back side of the wreath.

Hot glue the flowers on in what ever pattern you choose, and VIOLA!
Also, you can wrap the yarn around as many times as you like to cover missed spots and get it how ever thick you may like it

Here is the finished product!

Project #2: Cake/Cupcake Stand
You will need: plate, candle holder, epoxy, and paint is optional
I got the china plate, and ugly painted vase at 2 different junk stores

Paint the vase whatever color you choose, and let dry.

Place the candle holder in the middle of the plate and glue with a strong epoxy, let dry, and you're done!
Let dry upside down, and place a book on the bottom of the candle holder for pressure.

Hope you all have enjoyed! I will post better pictures of my sweet little cakestand later once I make something yummy to put on it! ;)

With love,
-K.

It's a blog world....

So I suppose it's time I jumped on the blog bandwagon! My name is Kinsey and I grew up in the small, small town of Frederick, Oklahoma. When I was younger my mom was a secretary at the elementry school there. She also had a "side job" with a teacher friend of hers. It was a small in-home crafting business, where they made different home made crafting things and such. One of my loves is going to old antique stores and looking at all the precious treasure's that someone else probably thought were trash. Your trash is someone else's treasure, right!? This is something that I got from my mom, who also shares this love with all of her sistsa's and also shared with my sweet, sweet Nana. I love crafting and antiquing and making old things new again- which is what this blog will mostly be about.

This is another love of mine, my precious puppy Harlie Blake.
She is my soul mate :)
She gets treated better than probably any child would!

Except for maybe this one.........
This is my nephew, Jack.
{Well.... he is actually my cousin Rhonda's baby,
but she is pretty much my sister which makes him pretty much my nephew.}
Isn't he so adorable!? I loooovve him soooo much!!
I'm such a proud Auntie ;)

I guess this concludes my first post for now... {I should probably get back to work, hehehe}
I hope you all have a FANTABULOUS day!
